A clinical operations dashboard for appointments, patient records, and capacity — designed for fast scanning under time pressure, with strict access control.
The challenge
Clinical staff read dashboards in seconds between patients. Dense data presented poorly is worse than no dashboard, and access to patient data has to be provably controlled.
What we built
- Day and week appointment views with real-time capacity indicators
- Patient record summaries with clear information hierarchy
- Department-level utilisation and wait-time reporting
- Role-based access with per-record audit logging
- Alerting on capacity thresholds
- Fully keyboard-navigable, WCAG AA contrast throughout
How we approached it
Information hierarchy was decided before visual design: what must be readable at a glance, what is available on a second look, and what belongs behind a click. Colour is never the only signal — every status carries an icon and a label as well.
What it demonstrates
Shows our approach to data-dense interfaces: hierarchy first, accessibility as a requirement rather than a pass at the end, and audit logging designed in from the start.
